If you do not receive treatment for your gum disease, even a mild periodontal inflammation from gingivitis can become periodontitis. Over time, you can lose the bone structure in your jaw, and experience loose or lost teeth.

In some of these cases, there might not be sufficient bone structure remaining to replace your missing and compromised teeth with dental implant restorations. In a situation like this, our dentists, Dr. Gurusharan Singh and Dr. Milan Sheth might recommend complete or partial dentures to replace your missing teeth.

If extractions and sutures are required, the dentist may likely provide you with a prescription for anti-inflammatory or pain medications. An impression will be prepared of your gums and/or remaining teeth. That impression will be sent to a dental lab, and dental technicians use it to create your dentures.

Your new dentures will be designed to fit the shape of your gums. You may also want to apply a small amount of denture adhesive to your dentures when you put them in each morning. The adhesive will help hold your dentures in place and block food particles from irritating your gums.

If you live in the Indianapolis, Indiana, area and would like to see if you could benefit from full or partial dentures, call 317-893-2700 to schedule a consultation at Gurusharan Singh Seven Days. Dr. Singh and Dr. Sheth look forward to helping you maintain your healthy, beautiful smile.
